A Successful Opening Reception
The Commencement of the ArtAbility 2023 Exhibition is underway in the heart of the Chelsea Art District, NYC.
(HUNTINGTON, NY)— The Spirit of Huntington Art is pleased to present the 2023 ArtABILITY Inclusion and Diversity tour: An Exhibition Celebrating Artists with Special Needs. Again, for the second year in a row at the world-famous Agora Gallery.
The exhibition is currently featuring the talents of dozens of individuals on Long Island living with various physical and cognitive impairments. The exhibition kicked off on Thursday, January 5th 2023 with a huge successful opening reception, visited by hundreds of people. The gallery was alive with music, refreshments, and pieces of art from across the world. The ArtAbility exhibition drew in hundreds of spectators and art enthusiasts. Also multiple news stations arrived, eager to learn about the place that provides art education, and joy. Many of our own artists and their families came to support the first show of the year.
ArtABILITY ‘23 is a traveling art exhibition organized by the Spirit of Huntington Art Center.
Currently showcasing powerful and meaningful artwork varying in many different mediums and styles. Many of the pieces include bright colors, abstract qualities and personal emotions. The exhibition’s purpose is to educate the community about the remarkable talents of these imaginative individuals. We hope the work inspires people to reach beyond their limitations and explore their own creativity. And finally, to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.

This art show provides the utmost recognition and validation to our students who use art as a way to express themselves.
Showcasing their artwork paints these individuals in a professional and supportive atmosphere. Their artwork continues to inspire and influence hundreds of visitors who admire their work. This exhibition has provided us with the opportunity to reflect back on the incredible year we’ve had. It also gives us the opportunity to grow through the creative process in a genuine and authentic way.
The Agora Gallery is a world famous contemporary fine art gallery located in the heart of Chelsea’s Arts District in New York City. The exhibition will be on display from January 5, 2023 to January 24, 2023 and is free and open to the public. Many of the pieces are still available for purchase here.
Our partner organizations include: ACLD, AHRC, Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau, FREE-Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Life’s WORC, YJCC-Adler Center for Special Needs, Winters Center for Autism, Rise Life Services, South Huntington School District and the SYJCC-Butler Center.
