Spirit of Huntington Named Finalist in Long Island Imagine Awards
The finalists for the Long Island Imagine Awards have been announced. It gives us immense pride to be included as a finalist in not one but two categories: Arts & Culture and Innovation.
These awards were created to provide education, foster relationships and to shine a spotlight on those nonprofits that are unique and significantly advancing programs and the sector on a regular basis. And to those non-profit organizations who think out of the box, and who understand the need to effectively collaborate to leverage results.
To be a finalist in the arts and culture category, Spirit of Huntington had to show our significance and measurable impact we have had on our community as well as the development of new and innovative programs. Spirit of Huntington is a community art center that believes art transforms lives. We uniquely offer education, recreation and vocation all under one roof. This is administered through two programs ArtABILITY and ArtWorks.
To be a finalist in the Innovation category we had to show that we have adopted new platforms that have led to a significant increase in the organization’s ability to meet its mission. Our ArtWorks program offers structured classes that provide technical training and real-world experience in graphic art and design. By supporting the neurodiverse we offer a commitment to a community that is often overlooked in training and employability.
We look forward to celebrating all the finalists at the awards ceremony, May 1st. Stay tuned…..
