ArtABILITY ‘23, Long Island’s Largest Collection of Special Needs Art Exhibits, Partners with Salon Suites

(HUNTINGTON STATION, NY)— The Spirit of Huntington Art Center is pleased to partner with Lisa’s Suite Charity to present an exhibit from its ArtAbility collection for the My Salon Suites Garden City, location in Carle Place, New York.

The exhibition will be on display at the My Salon Suites branch located at One Old Country Road, Suite 102, Carle Place, New York, 11514 for their premier opening on October 17th, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00pm.

ArtABILITY ‘23 is a traveling art exhibition organized by the Spirit of Art Center that showcases the talents of individuals with diverse abilities on Long Island and the surrounding area. Its purpose is to educate the community about the remarkable talents of this population, to inspire people to reach beyond their limitations to explore their own creativity, and to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the arts. Spirit of Huntington offers art classes that provide a unique opportunity for students to enjoy a stress free, therapeutic environment that fosters creativity and self-esteem. ArtABILITY ‘23 celebrates the accomplishments of the artists and the many non-profit partner organizations that support their day-to-day lives and who believe in the impact the arts can have on individuals with diverse abilities. These partner organizations include: AHRC Suffolk, Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau, FREE- Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Life’s WORC, RISE Life Services, South Huntington School District, TSINY – Transitional Services of New York, Winters Center for Autism, SYJCC-Butler Center, and the Mid-Island YJCC-Adler Center for Special Needs. This exhibit is funded in part by Suffolk County Department of Economic Planning; Legislators Stephanie Bontempi, Tom Donnelly, and Manuel Esteban, and made possible with the support of TD Charitable Foundation, Life’s WORC, FREE- Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, RISE Life Services, Winters Center for Autism. and AHRC Suffolk.
