Keith Haring
Statue of Liberty w/markers
Keith Haring, an iconic figure in contemporary art, exploded onto the scene in the 1980s with his vibrant and dynamic works that captured the energy and spirit of New York City street culture. His unique approach to art, which seamlessly blended elements of graffiti, pop culture, and social activism, not only transformed the urban landscape but also challenged the traditional boundaries of high and low art. He has a distinctive style characterized by bold lines, vivid colors, and simple yet powerful symbols, Haring’s art transcends boundaries, speaking to people of all ages and backgrounds. This week, we will be creating our own drawing inspired by Haring’s use of color and symbols, in celebration of the Fourth of July!
