Experience a 1/2 day (4 hours) or art, music, movement and clay all in one 4-day week!
All of our workshops are self-direction approved. We also have an after-program option for those in school or DayHab Programs. Please reach out to me for more information.
Sessions are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:45 pm to 4:45 pm

Great Pyramid of Giza
Join us for a fun filled week of everything Egyptian!!! We will sculpt a ceramics sarcophagus and a mummy with Gina, create a 3-D pyramid, construct a fun Egyptian lyre and move with John to Funky King Tut and other great Egyptian music with James and Michael D. Join Ingrid, Diane, Colleen, Michael, Erich and Sydney in 3 great art projects featuring a Fathi Hassan vase, a beautiful desert landscape collage and a hieroglyphic wooden nameplate! Enjoy the sights sounds and motion of the Great Pyramids through presentations, music, picture books, videos, snacks from the region, personal stories and more. And of course we end each day with an ice cream treat!!!

Incan Ruins at Machu Picchu
This week we go to Peru!!! We’ll take you in and out of weeks and almost over a year to Where the Wild Things Are as we explore the art of Maurice Sendak. We’ll create a Wild Things monster ceramics mugs with Ingrid and visit the Peruvian jungle with Henri Rousseau, sculpt, glaze and fire a Donatello lion medallion. Make a Wild Rumpus with John, design our own Wild Things with Diane, Ingrid, Michael Erich and Sydney. Learn a some words and phrases in Spanish and explore Quecha people of South America!

The Colosseum
Visit Rome as we sculpt and glaze Venetian Carnival Masks with Gina, paint a Mona Lisa-ish self portrait on canvas with Ingrid, Michael and Colleen. We will learn about all the great Renaissance artists, explore architecture as we create a mixed medium collage of the Colosseum and design Roman goblets. Music this week ranges from Opera to Queen to the accordion! Italian snacks and pizza round off this sensory experience.

Great Barrier Reef
Explore the world’s largest coral reef that is so big it can be seen from outer space! We’ll make beautiful underwater artwork inspired by David C. Miller and our very own Bob Schmitz and explore the Great Barrier Reef with conservation artist Courtney Madison. Sculpt textured ceramics sea creatures with Gina. Arianna is back this week adding to the fun and John returns as we dance to The Wiggles!!!! (We may or may not be kidding!!) Join Michael D. and James and explore Australian music from the didgeridoo to AC/DC and Tame Impala! There might even be a bit of under the sea Disney this week just for fun!

Temple of Zeus at Olympia
We’re ending the summer with a trip to Greece! Who better to take us there then Michael Kitakis who will lead us in a Greek circle dance!! Ancient culture and classic art abounds this week, as there is so much to explore from pottery to murals to contemporary artists. We’ll sculpt ancient pots with Gina that rival the gods of Olympia, create marbled greek columns, a ceramic tile mural and more! Our snacks this week are sure to be a big hit as will be our “Olympic Games” complete with our own Olympian portraits.
