ArtABILITY ‘22 Receives Recognition and $40K Grant from TD Bank Charitable Foundation

The Spirit of Huntington hosted a great event on Wednesday, November 16 to mark the culmination of our ArtABILITY ‘22 Exhibition before it goes on tour for 2023.

As part of the TD Charitable Foundation’s 20th anniversary celebration, the fund distributed over 10,800 grants to various programs and organizations. The Spirit of Huntington’s ArtABILITY ’22 Exhibition received a generous grant of $40,000 in support of the tour, and the classes that contribute their artwork to the exhibition over the coming year.

Ms. Xiomara Leto of TD Bank was on hand to present the check to Michael Kitakis, Executive Director of the Spirit of Huntington Art Center. Also present were a number of students of the Art Center along with members of their organizations, Executive Director Charles Evdos of RISE Life Services and his team, and executives from Life’s WORC.

“TD Charitable Foundation’s grant ensures that the Art Center will continue to provide classes for recreation, vocation, and education for our students,” Michael Kitakis noted. “We sincerely thank the TD Charitable Foundation for its belief in, and support of our mission to ignite the passion of students with special needs and Veterans for creative expression that transforms their lives.”

The letter accompanying the contribution included this sentiment: “We are pleased to support your ongoing community-based efforts and extend our very best wishes for continued success.
